Capraia Island with the ship La Superba

Departure every Saturday and Sunday from Livorno, Porto Mediceo, Elba Pier, inside the fenced area in front of the Coast Guard (*La Superba* ship – tickets available only on board or online) | 8:15 a.m. – return at 7:30 p.m. / approx. 6-hour stop in Capraia

The wildest and most remote island of the Tuscan Archipelago is closest to the fast ship *La Superba*. We offer a few exclusive dates from Livorno, unmissable opportunities to experience the island atmosphere, the most magical and solitary natural spots, the fragrant trails through low shrubs, and the crystal-clear waters teeming with life. During the journey, it will be possible to book optional walking excursions with the Toscana Trekking guides and reserve the spectacular island tour, with a swim from the boat and naturalistic, historical, and geological commentary (advertisement below).

How the day unfolds.

  • Boarding starting at 7:45 a.m. at Porto Mediceo, Elba Pier (in the fenced area near the Coast Guard; *La Superba* ship)
  • 8:15 AM: We set sail!!!
  • At 10:15 a.m. (11:00 a.m. if the ship is at the technical dock of Gorgona), approximate arrival in Capraia. During the voyage, it will be possible to book optional guided tours, which can be taken once in Capraia.
  • After disembarking, you can explore independently or join the optional guided tours. You can return on board at lunchtime to enjoy the seafood specialties prepared by our chef, or later, just in time to participate in the boat tour around the island, during which you can take a swim in the more inaccessible parts of the island's steep coastline.
  • At 4:45 p.m., we will depart to return to Livorno, arriving around 7:00 p.m. (7:40 p.m. if the ship makes a technical stop at Gorgona).

Guaranteed departure with at least 50 bookings. If the required number is not reached, the departure will be canceled.

NB: The times are indicative and subject to minor changes due to port traffic, currents, winds, and general weather conditions.

NB: In case of adverse weather conditions, the trip may be modified or canceled at the discretion of the Captain.

Toscana Trekking offers optional guided tours that can be booked during the journey directly with the guides.

Boat tour around the island - (Subject to a minimum of 25 bookings) Nature and geology of the island, including the famous Cala Rossa, a natural feature of a volcano that has been active for 5 million years. Opportunity for a swim from the boat – duration approximately 1 hour 20 minutes – cost: adults €22 / children under 10 €12.

Historic center tour – esplora l’isola partendo da storia e tradizioni popolari, attraverso angusti vicoletti e scorci di rara suggestione, con uno sguardo alla rigogliosa natura. Durata 1h30′ circa. – costo adulti 8€ / 5-10 anni 5€ (eventuale salita al paese in autobus di linea, +1€, da pagare sull’autobus), visita a piedi.

Historic center tour + Nature hike. – Nature hike on the eastern side of the island, up to Cala dello Zurletto, or through the abandoned prison buildings to learn about the life of the prisoners on the island. Duration: approximately 3 hours. – Cost: adults €12 / children 5-10 years €8.

Excursion to the former penal colony. – Nature hike on foot through the abandoned prison buildings to understand the life of the prisoners on the island. Duration: approximately 2 hours. – Cost: adults €15 / children 5-10 years €9 (requires a minimum of 8 participants, subject to guide availability; booking 3-4 days in advance is recommended).

Snorkeling – Swimming excursion from one of the sea access points reachable on foot, to discover the underwater wonders of Capraia – duration: 1 hour – cost: €15 per person (including optional rental of mask and snorkel) (subject to guide availability; booking 3-4 days in advance is recommended).

The navigation schedule may be subject to changes depending on maritime and port conditions. The company reserves the right to modify arrival and departure times. The carrier disclaims any responsibility for damages caused to the Passenger due to delays or non-performance of transport if the event results from unforeseen circumstances, force majeure, adverse weather-marine conditions, strikes, technical malfunctions constituting force majeure, or other causes not attributable to the carrier, and in any case in accordance with the provisions of Articles 402, 403, 404, and 408 of the Navigation Code and EU Regulation No. 1177/2010.
