Maremma Coast

Sailing along lush coastlines and small islands with postcard-perfect beaches

Half-day boat excursion, without disembarkation

Like the small coasting Latin sails of old, we’ll sail the seas of the Etruscans, retracing their history, legends, and daily life on a day filled with sea and spectacular coastlines. Heading north from Castiglione, we’ll enter the marine territory of the ancient Principality of Piombino. We’ll then navigate among the smaller islands of the Archipelago—Cerboli, Palmaiola, and the Island of the Mice—and along the shores between Follonica, Cala Violina, Punta Ala, and Le Rocchette, through a succession of varied, wild, and fascinating landscapes, with wide stretches of golden sand and steep coastlines of twisted rock. Professional commentary from our guides will offer in-depth insights into the history and nature of these environments. We’ll stop at anchor for a swim from the boat. (NB: If the excursion is extended to a full day, we’ll reach Elba and the Calamita promontory, sailing up to Porto Azzurro, where a short stop can be made.)
