Meeting again at the end of school in the era of the Coronavirus

Having put aside our 'entrepreneurial uniforms,' we, too, are parents. In these months of forced inactivity, we couldn't help but notice how our children were deprived of one of the most important values for their age: socializing with their peers, with their classmates. This school year has certainly managed to accelerate the learning of digital skills that were much needed in Italian schools, but it has lost the opportunity for socialization, class outings, and the sharing of extracurricular moments that are so important for the cohesion and development process of our children or students.

Many of us are looking for ways to make up for these moments with end-of-school-year dinners, 'socially distanced' meetings between our children/students to try to regain a bit of social interaction, especially for those who are finishing one school cycle and preparing for the next.

As a shipping company, we are positively testing the formula we proposed to our children's classes: a half-day at sea with the ship completely available to students and parents, even with teachers, finally free from the responsibilities of their profession. This gives the opportunity to maintain distancing while also sharing a unique experience in which the students – under the supervision, also 'at a distance,' of their parents as well as the crew – can finally enjoy the chance to meet and live together something special.
